Alexis Park Resort, Conference Center
Returning to our roots, Queercon is celebrating its Sweet 16, and we’re going back to where it all began. This year Queercon had a major space upgrade, and we’ve taken over the conference center of the Alexis Park! Open daily at 0900, we have a great selection of talks, villages, activities, and of course, all of our signature events. Don’t miss the daily mixers!
All of the Queercon space is located on the main floor level of the Alexis Park Conference Center, making it easy and convenient for you to move between activities and spaces. For the majority of our events, we’ve divided the space up into some key main areas:
share – Talks/Presentations
In our share room, we invite speakers and panels to share their knowledge, experiences, perspectives, and offer a diverse mix of presentations to appeal to the Queercon community.
Check out our full Schedule of Events for activities taking place in the share space.
chill – Lounge
With the expansion of square footage, Queercon now has its very own chill-out space, for your retreat and sanctuary from the madness of hacker summer camp. We’ve set up some comfy seating and created an oversized game area, to help you unwind and just “chill.”
Drop into our chill room, Thursday – Sunday, 0900 - 1600, to take a break, hangout, and play a round or two of giant chess or Jenga.
mingle – Mixers, Meetups, & Dance Parties
Queercon’s mingle room is the home of our daily mixers, several of our evening events, including our Saturday night Rainbow Disco, and daily meetups for attendees of similar identities to support one another. Outfitted for a more social experience, the focus of this space is in its name.
Check out our full Schedule of Events for activities taking place in the mingle space.
engage - Villages
This year we’ve built an interactive space with Hardware, Gaming, Crypto & Puzzle, and Recruitment villages. Queercon partners with companies that support diversity and equality. These villages are made possible by their generosity and sponsorship. Stop by and talk with representatives from some of our partner companies, learn some soldering skillz, or test your brain with this year’s Queercon Challenges.
Open Thursday – Saturday, 0900 - 1600, our engage room is your space to create, repair, meet, and game to your heart’s content.
badge | swag | info
Proving that combining forces really can be the best thing ever, our Badge/Registration, Info Booth, and Swag Store are co-located to be your one-stop shop for all things Queercon. Bring your QR codes, your questions, and check out our shirts, hoodies, and other awesome stuff available for purchase, while you’re there. All proceeds from swag sales go to support QC outreach programs like this one. Your support is appreciated!
Open Thursday – Sunday, starting at 0900.
Queercon events have always been open to all LGBTQ+, as well as friends and allies. All of our events, with the exception of our Friday night Pool Party, require either a Queercon badge or pass for entry. With the growth of Queercon, we find ourselves with a need for more structure. However, staying true to our roots, we aim to keep registration simple: All you need is a badge or pass.
Pre-order a QC 16 badge, while supplies last: Badge Registration.
Once you have pre-ordered a badge, you will receive a QR code. You MUST have this code to pick up the badge. Badges will be available for pickup beginning at 2000 on Wednesday, just in time for our Badge Welcome party, through Friday at 1600. Be sure to pick-up your badge – or confirm other arrangements with us – before the Friday cut-off time! Once the clock has struck, we’ll return any unclaimed badges to inventory for give-aways (read on for more info), to make sure that as many attendees as possible get to enjoy the sheer awesomeness of the Queercon badge.
Free badges at the conference
Every year, we set aside a large portion of our badges to give away, for free, during the con. Getting one is tricky, as our handout method is random and keeps you on your toes. But attend our events and be social, and you’ll have a good chance.
In addition to our infamous badges, we also have passes available for donation. While not as hefty as our badges, passes still have a ton of features and fun packed into them, give you entry to all of our events, help us control the crowds, and support the whole Queercon lineup. Passes can be pre-ordered at the same time as our badges or purchased onsite while supplies last, and your donation supports Queercon. Stop by our badge | info | swag space to get yours!
A free shuttle to get you to and from Queercon and DEFCON will be running between the Alexis Park and Bally’s, approximately every 30 minutes, Thursday - Saturday, 0900 - 0100. Exact departure times may vary, depending on traffic.
Join our Telegram chat to meet new friends, keep up-to-date on any changes to the schedule, get notified of announcements during the con, and maybe even score a badge! As with our on-site events, the Code of Conduct applies to our chat channel. The Queercon Telegram channels can be joined here:
